Biography

Dragan Zlatović was born in Šibenik in 1962. He graduated from the Faculty of Law in Zagreb in 1985. He worked as the head of the legal department of the Electrode and Ferroalloy Factory in Šibenik (1985-1995) and as the head of the property law department in the City Administration of the City of Šibenik (1995-1997). After that, he was the director of the Croatian National Theater in Šibenik and the International Children's Festival in Šibenik (1997-2010). Since 2010, he has been a senior lecturer, since January 1, 2017. high school professor, and from 30.11.2021. professor of professional studies in a permanent position at the Šibenik University of Applied Scinences  where he/has taught courses in Commercial Law, Management of Companies, Fundamentals of Labor, Social and Civil Service Law, Intellectual Property and Information Systems, Labor Law, Law of Non-Profit Organizations, Commercial and Copyright law, and Commercial law in tourism/ Law in tourism. He is the author and co-author of 20 textbooks, monographs, manuals and commentaries. He is a co-author with Prof. Ph.D. Jozo Čizmić and Prof. Ph.D. Marijo Boban of the university textbook "New technologies, intellectual property and information security" for the needs of several courses on several study programs of the Faculty of Law in Split (2016). He defended his master's thesis entitled "Judicial protection of trademarks in European and Bosnia and Herzegovina law" in 2011, and in 2014 he defended his doctoral dissertation entitled "Judicial protection of industrial property rights against unfair competition" at the Faculty of Law "Džemal Bijedić" in Mostar. He is intensively engaged in scientific and professional work, especially intellectual property law (trademark and copyright), commercial, labor and theater law, as well as the law of non-profit organizations, in which areas he has so far published over 350 scientific and professional works (20 textbooks, monographs and manuals; 60 scientific papers, 17 papers published in the proceedings of scientific meetings and 255 professional and other papers in professional periodicals) in legal and business journals and proceedings. He participated as a referent or co-referent at 50 international and domestic scientific and professional gatherings, consultations and conferences. He was an arbitrator of the Permanent Arbitration Court at the Croatian Chamber of Commerce (2005-2009, 2009-2013, 2014-2019), and a member of several professional associations (Croatian Copyright Society - ALAI, Croatian Society for Civil Law Sciences, Croatian Arbitration Association). He was a member of the working group at the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia for drafting the proposal for the Act on Theaters (2005-2006), i.e. the Committee of the Croatian Parliament for awarding the award for the promotion of children's rights (2011-2013). He is an external associate of the University Study Center for Forensic Sciences of the University of Split at the Graduate University Study of Forensics as part of the New Technologies, Intellectual Property and Information Security course. Dragan Zlatović is the titular university associate professor in the field of intellectual property law. He has been the head of the Department of Administrative Studies at the  Šibenik University of Applied Sciences  since 2013. He is the editor-in-chief of the Proceedings of the Polytechnic in Šibenik. He is the President of the City Council of the City of Šibenik in the terms of office 2017-2021. and 2021-2025. The scientist's registration number is 334130. He is the recipient of the first recognition of the Choir of Polytechnics of the Republic of Croatia for his contribution to the development of professional and teaching activities (2022).
