The course covers the definition of hospitality, hotel industry, classification of hotels, types of hotels according to different criteria, hotel processes, hotel standards, the way of establishing an organizational structure, the work and function of the sales department, correspondence with guests in foreign and Croatian languages, reporting methods
As part of the course, students will create a hotel opening project that includes a detailed analysis of the environment, defining services, prices, estimating occupancy, costs (fixed and variable) and, finally, the overall business result

1. explain and critically evaluate the basic terms and characteristics of hotels and hotel industry
2. analyze the hotel industry in the Republic of Croatia
3. apply business processes for working at the reception desk
4. create a project for opening a hotel company according to the hotel size and hotel category, in which are included all departments with the associated costs and revenues
5. enter reservations into the rentlio reservation system and make reports for department heads in the hotel
