To introduce students to the healthcare process as a basic model in caring for patients and their basic human needs, and to healthcare planning: with nursing history, nursing diagnoses, goals, interventions and evaluation, thus enabling students to understand the principles of work in all areas of healthcare.

1. Explain the theoretical principles and tenets of the healthcare process including the connection to nursing theories
2. Explain the hierarchy of basic human needs according to Virginia Henderson's concept and patterns of health functioning (M Gordon)
3. Explain the structure of a health care plan in all its phases
4. Demonstrate the creation of a health care plan
