The Contemporary Constitutional Systems course is aimed at acquiring basic knowledge about general issues of constitutional law, constitutional rule, the foundations of government, the organization of state power and the forms of various state communities, the electoral system, the constitutional arrangement of the European Union, human rights and their protection, and constitutional adjudication.

1. Define the basic terms and concepts of constitutional law, and connect basic political theories and explanations of the political process within the framework of the function of the constitution in a democratic society.
2. Classify and analyze types of constitutions, models of government structures, forms of state arrangements, institutions of democratic constitutionalism and human rights and freedoms.
3. To compare and criticize the existing models of government organization in the world.
4. To foresee procedures for establishing legally relevant facts, and deciding on issues in the field of constitutional law.
5. Draft a simple complaint to the European Court of Human Rights.
